NBI CLEARANCE FAST-TRACKED UNDER e-SYSTEM

Getting a National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) clearance, often required for overseas travel, used to take a whole day.
Today, after halving procedures and implementing it electronically via an on-line registration, Appointment and E-payment, getting the clearance is faster and easier, stressed NBI Director Virgilio Mendez.
From a 6-step process, NBI trimmed down the process into three steps: 1) On-line registration, appointment and e-Payment; 2) Photo capture  and fingerprint biometrics 3) Clearance printing.
“The online registration, appointment and e-Payment system is the solution to eradicate queuing at the NBI clearance centers, shorten both waiting and processing time,” he explained.
First, applicants need only register online at the NBI Clearance website – clearance.nbi.gov.ph.  Complete the application form, secure an appointment date then pay the processing fee.
Payment can be made via Online Banking – customers with local Internet banking access from banks such as BDO, BPI, Metrobank, RCBC, Unionbank, UCPB, Chinabank, PNB, MAybank, Sterling Bank and Eastwest bank can pay online using with real-time debit to their account.
They can also pay Over The Counter at any participating banks – BDO, BPI, Metrobank, RCBC, Chinabank, EastWest Bank, Landbank, Maybank, PNB, Security Bank, Sterling Bank, UCPB and Unionbank.
People can likewise pay Over The Counter at any outlet of Bayad Center, LBC, and Robinsons Dep’t Stores, via ATM and Debit Cards byBDO, BPI, Unionbank, Chinabank, Maybank, RCBC, PNB and UCPB can pay via ATM or do Mobile Payment via  G-Cash.
On appointment date, the applicant proceeds to any  of the seventy two NBI Clearance Processing Centers located nationwide for the Photo Capture and Fingerprint Biometrics as well as Clearance Printing.
Applicants with no Internet access can use the NBI computer workstations at its Main clearance processing center in Manila, free of charge. Soon, the Regional and District Offices will also offer the same service.
So far, “Since we implemented the new system early this 2015, we have seen significant improvements and positive feedback,” Director Mendez concluded.
